Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Review, Full Specifications, Price, Camera, Battery Life :
Most of the Zenfone Series has been a major success for ASUS. They are back with another phone in the lineup of Zenfone, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. The phone was launched on the 23rd April 2018. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 has, at least on paper, top-notch specs at a very less price. The phone comes in 3 different storage variants 3GB 32GB, 4GB 64GB and 6GB 64GB. The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 price starts at Rs.10,999. The phone comes with a Full Stock Android UI inspite of not being an Android One device. Let’s see how Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is, in detail. After using it for some time, here is my take on the device.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Box Contents:
Asus Zenfone Max Pro contains the following things in box:
- USB Cable
- User Guide
- SIM Ejector Tool
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Design:
Talking about the Design, the company has kept the design very simple. It’s just that ordinary design which smartphones have these days. The camera placement is almost same as the iPhone X’s camera placement. There is no notch in the front. And in other words, it has a safe exterior. The phone comes with the metallic unibody design and the matte finished back. There is nothing like a unique design to it, but the design hardly matters if the phone is good overall. There is a dual camera at the back and a flashlight below it. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the centre of the back and has an ASUS branding below it. I used the phone for quite a while and noticed that the back of a fingerprint magnet. Like, all your fingerprints get on the back of the phone. In short, the back is prone to fingerprints and smudges, which was the thing I didn’t like. But anyway you will be using a cover for the phone, so it won’t really matter and is something that can be neglected. All and all the design is good but isn’t anything unique.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Display:
The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with a 5.99-inch screen with FullHD+ resolution of 2160x1080p. Just like the other Zenfone Series, it has got options to change the display size, font size and tone of the screen.I really liked the Display Quality of the phone. I had no complaints regarding the display of the phone. The quality and the sharpness of the images on the screen are quite good and are very clear. Problem which few phones face is that the screen doesn’t look clear even after full brightness in the sunlight. But, that is not the case over here.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Performance:
The phone comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor which is quiet efficient and fast. It has the Kyro Technology based chipset which is claimed to be seen in the Snapdragon 800 Series chipset. Talking about the RAM, it comes with 3 different options, 3GB, 4GB, 6GB. The device that I got was a 3GB RAM 32GB Internal Storage device. I played few games on the phone, and the performance was really good. It did lag sometimes but if you go with the 4GB or 6GB RAM variant, it won’t. Even on extensive gaming, it didn’t even heat which happens with many phones in the market. For a person who has a normal usage, it will really work very fast without any lag. The phone has good audio & call quality too. I wasn’t very impressed with the speakers on the phone. The phone has a pure stock Android UI, which is my favourite. I’m more of a Stock Android Lover. It comes with the Android 8.1 straight out of the box. Some of the ZenUI lovers might get disheartened because of the Stock Android, but trust me this feels really good to use. It has regular Software upgrades. Another feature which it comes is Face Unlock which is very rare in these budget phones. Although the Face Unlock isn’t that accurate but it will get better and better with the software update.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Camera:
Coming to the camera of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, it comes with a dual rear camera that is 13MP+5MP. 5MP is for capturing all the Bokeh images. Talking about the front camera, it has a 8MP camera which clicks good images in the day light. The phone has the Snapdragon camera app interface which is quite easy to use and user friendly. It has a variety of different filters and settings. It has the beautification mode as well. Images captured by the rear camera were good in the day light condition, but the camera really struggled in the shady/dark lighting condition as the images lacked sharpness and were grainy. The bokeh effect did it’s job in the daylight nicely and gave that backgroud blur effect properly. The colours that were produced in the final image felt a bit artificial during my testing of the phone.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Battery Life:
If you are someone who wants a long battery lasting phone, then look no further and buy Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 because it comes with a massive 5000 mAh battery. It has the largest battery backup as compared to the other phones in this range. The phone easily lasts for upto 2 days on a normal use whereas the rest of the phones hardly last for a day. Battery is really a plus point when you are travelling and have no access to power supply for a long time. If battery is your top most priority, this is the best phone in this price range.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Price:
Inspite of all these amazing features, the price of the phone is Rs.10,999 only for the base variant.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Next Sale:
The Phone is exclusively sold on Flipkart. Keep checking Flipkart for the Sale Updates as there is no news as to when the next sale of the phone, will be. The 6GB RAM variant has not even started selling in India yet. It will soon go on sale in few days.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Conclusion:
Asus has done a great job by oddering 18:9 panel, a decent camera, stock android like UI, 5000mAh battery, Snapdragon 636, etc. With the price starting at Rs.10,999 , the phone is really worth if the camera is not your topmost priority. The phone feels really good and smooth while using it. It your budget is somewhere around Rs.10,000 to Rs.15,000 , this is the phone to consider. There some few other phone in the market within the same range but I being a Pure Stock Android user would definitely choose this phone over the others. The performance is top-notch as well. The phone itself is spectacular.
